Here’s what we did for Fun Friday on May 21st!

The Story

The book was Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert

The Fingerplay

Planting Flowers

Dig a hole.

Put in the seeds.

Water the plants.

Pull the weeds.

Some days of sunshine.

Some days of showers.

Sniff, sniff, sniff.

Smell the flowers.

The Craft

Cut Flowers petal out of white construction paper. Then cut out leaves on green construction paper. Hole punch bottoms of flower petals and thru the middle of the leaf.

At story time:
Each child was given one white flower petal for them to color with crayons or markers and one lollipop. Each child then put the stick thru the hole on the leaf and the accompanying grownups tapes the bottom closed.

Optionally you can paint the toilet paper roll yellow, when dry, paint the black strips. You will still need black construction paper or pipe cleaners for the antennae.
