The Story
The book was The Snake A very Long Story by Bernard Waber
The Craft: Slinky Link Snake
What you’ll need:
- 1″ x 9″ paper strips
- 4″ paper square
- 1/2″ x 3″ red paper strip
- glue
- scissors
- markers
How to make it:
- Trim the square into a snake head shape.
- Glue a 1″ x 9″ paper strip end to end, forming a link. Hold the ends in place and allow the glue to set.
- Place another same-size strip through the link and glue the ends together to create an additional link. Continue adding links until the desired length is obtained.
- Use the markers to add facial features to the snake. Then accordion-fold the red strip and glue it to the head so it resembles a tongue.
- Glue the head to the first link of the chain. Hold it in place and allow the glue to set.
